Multi-Grammy winning singer R. Kelly underwent emergency throat surgery back in July after experiencing severe pain from a sore throat.
The Pied Piper of R&B was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago to have abscess on one of his tonsils drained. He had just completed the U.S. leg of his Love Letters Tour at the time, with the rest of his scheduled performances postponed indefinitely.
Shortly after the surgery, Kelly updated his fans about his recovery progress. "I feel like my throat is coming back. I've been in bed sweating like crazy," he tweeted to his fans. "I'd like to thank everybody for their love, concern and support. I WILL BE BACK!"
Since then, Kelly has officially announced his return to the game with a brand new track entitled “Shut Up,” in dedication to all the haters that doubted his ability to make a comeback while thanking all his fans for their support. “It's been a long time coming but I finally feel a lot better about my throat since the surgery and this is the first song I wrote,” he said.
